Hello! A good picture of this one, the other side, please? The screw are modern! What is the total length? The main spring have no screw: abnormal. May be a copy?? The other one was a flintlock platine, modified for caps in the 1840/1860's. Civil transformation for hunting. The flange nuts (green) is not a military. Else is like a 1777, AN IX, 1822 platine. A 1777 platine: Note the mainspring screw and the flange nuts. Total length 160 mm. Cordialement, CG

Difference with a 1754 rifle: 1728 and 1746 are similar. It is not a french military platine. The sheet battery spring is blued and seems very thin! As the screws, it's looks like a modern spring.

12,5 cm, it is small. May be for a pistol or a mousqueton? But not french. The screws slots are as U (in green on the picture): modern. Old screws slots are as V. The 2 dog's screws are made with mechanical turn (in orange below: tool circular marks), the dog is molded (molding line in red on the picture above): copy. I think modern copy. Perhaps the screws are at ISO standards? For sale section: wait after one month presence (20/7/2014>20/8/2014). For MP it is OK, no?

20€ is not expansive! 60/80€ approximatively for the caps platine original and more than 100€ for the copy, she is beautiful and good for a XVIII° century (approx. 1730>1760) copy flint pistol.
